A change is what I'm looking for next year. It's the meaning and purpose of this blog. It might not be a change exactly. It's about returning to what I loved to do being a little girl: Exploring the diversity of cultures, languages and religions of the world. So I have been trying to gather all these ideas and shape my thinking in order to start this activity.
Everything began when I decided to visit Europe in 2010.
Travel alone? I didn't dare to do it before. It was preferable to stay in my home's safety, discovering all these places thanks to my TV, computer screen, magazines and travel guides. Daily routine, expectations, economic situation and my parents' egos were conditions that pushed me toward a different road, the one considered right.
The increasing frustration made me realized that something had to be done. I asked myself if unhappiness was a normal state of mind. My answer was affirmative, until the day, after mulling it over, I decided to take the leap and look for adventure. Firstly, I traveled alone to Paris, afraid of language and people, but once there, big surprise that people weren't so rude and French language wasn't as difficult as I thought. Many Parisians are familiar with Spanish and, it's correct, they don't have the patience to deal with tourists.
Secondly, from Paris to the United Kingdom! I fell in love with the English gardens, the Welsh landscapes and the kindness of Scots and Irish. My fear of traveling alone started to go away, and felt that getting to know other cultures was part of my life mission, a way to enhance my inner self.
This trip to Europe has been the beginning of the changes experienced currently. Other adventures came, but I'll let you know progressively.
